traditional stone built cottage of great charm and character. Three
bedrooms provide space for four people in comfort with a high standard
of warm and spacious accommodation.The cottage is one of four dwellings which formed part of Ellers farm
with the main house built in 1850. A high aspect that gives lovely
views to the south over the Brathay Valley while Loughrigg Fell frames
the view behind the cottage.
Situated close to Ambleside at the heart of the Lake District National Park the cottage is ideally placed to explore the fabulous lakes and mountains. The area is justly famous as an escape for visitors, who come to enjoy the magnificent scenery and its literary and artistic heritage.
Loughrigg Tarn is just a short stroll away and is one of the most picturesque small lakes in the National Park.
The area offers many opportunities to enjoy fell walking or cycling from the doorstep with water sports available nearby. The local towns and villages are increasingly becoming well known for different and distinctive shops. Beautiful country houses, unusual museums, The Wordsworth Museum and the World of Beatrix Potter are all near at hand.
Or simply relax in the spacious garden or in front of one of the open fires.
The garden is enclosed and arranged with different areas of lawn, ornamental planting with a wide range of species and large, mature trees. A small stream runs through part of the garden.
The cottage offers spacious and charming accommodation with many period features. All rooms are well equipped and decorated to create a relaxing retreat to help make any visit a memorable one.
